This Privacy Policy explains how gpaNepal (“we”, “us”, the “Service”) handles information when you use the SGPA and CGPA calculator at gpanepal.com. We have designed gpaNepal to collect as little personal data as possible. Most of what you enter never leaves your own device.

1. Your grades stay on your device

gpaNepal is a client-side calculator. The semesters, subjects, credit hours and grades you enter are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. This data is not sent to or stored on our servers. We cannot see your grades.

Local storage is only used after you give consent through the on-site storage prompt.
You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser storage or site data.
If you clear your browser data, your saved grades are permanently removed and we cannot recover them.

2. The Share / Compare feature

If you choose to use the optional share or compare feature, a snapshot of the results you decide to share is sent to our hosting backend so that a shareable link can be generated. This happens only when you explicitly create a share link. If you never use the share feature, none of your data is transmitted off your device. Do not use the share feature for information you consider sensitive.

3. Information we do not collect

We do not require you to create an account or log in.
We do not ask for your name, email, or student ID to use the calculator.
Any name you type into a PDF export stays in the generated file on your device.

4. Cookies and advertising

We may display advertisements served by third-party vendors, including Google AdSense. These vendors use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads on this site.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to gpaNepal and/or other sites on the Internet.

5. Analytics and hosting

Our site is served over the public internet, and like most websites, standard technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) may be processed by our hosting and content-delivery providers to deliver the page and keep the Service secure. This is not linked to your grade data.

6. Children's privacy

gpaNepal is intended for university and college students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the calculator does not collect personal data in the first place, no such information is stored on our servers.

7. Your choices

Decline the storage prompt to use the calculator without saving anything between sessions.
Clear your browser's site data to remove all locally stored grades.
Use the opt-out links above to control advertising cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
